A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Car . . .

We just got back from a camping trip at Fort Stevens. We had fun, despite the rain. However, because it did rain, we found ourselves taking a day trip on Saturday morning. We drove to Ilwaco (or whatever) to the Lewis and Clark interpretive center, which was really fascinating and worth a trip, I thought. We had to take a shuttle from the Cape Disappointment parking lot to the center. After we were through, we waited for the shuttle to arrive. When it did, we got in line and waited to board - all of us, except Jake. Jake pushed himself through the line and crowded onto the little bus, pushing a woman in front of him repeatedly - in the bottom. I'm pretty sure he put his hand in her crack. I was so mortified that I was paralyzed to stop him. I just watched in horror as his hands sank between the poor woman's buns.

Well, we finally got on the very full bus - which held about 20 people. After a minute or so, Jake said "I have a problem here." It was apparently loud enough to be heard by the driver, who replied, "Yes ma'am?" Jake then piped up very loudly, "Actually, that's yes SIR." The driver apologized and said, "yes sir" a little meekly. Jake then told her, "when you come to a stop sign and you have to stop, you need to say 'stop sign'". The driver took it in stride and at the next stop sign, the whole bus errupted with "Stop Sign!" Did I mention that we were sitting in the back of the bus? I was mortified, but also laughing so hard that I could hardly breathe.
