It runs in the family

Jake is completely obsessed with Indiana Jones. John and I took him to see the new Indy movie with Loy and her family. Since then, he can't get enough. He has several Indiana Jones lego sets, the lego video game, and has put together his own Indiana Jones outfit. He found his khaki church pants, a khaki dress up shirt layered over a t-shirt, and a too-small brown felt cowboy hat with red and white string. Oh, I can't forget the rubber snake "whip." It's pretty cute until he whips me one too many times with that snake!

We also had a fight over who was the bigger fan! I guess it's in his blood.

Sensitivity training needed

Jake, like the whole family, loves TV, even when he's not watching it. While he was playing legos, a Christian Children's Fund commercial came on, saying "34 children die by the time this message is finished." Jake said, "No way, that's not real. 34 children won't die." John said, "Yes, it is, because of poverty." Jake then said, "I hope that doesn't happen to one of me." John assured him that he was fortunate and wasn't poverty stricken. Jake promplty said, "Yes!"

Sshhhh. Don't tell anyone he said that.
